A useful estimate.
Not an exact science.

Every pregnancy follows its own rhythm. Use these dates as a starting point for a conversation, rather than a fixed schedule.

How is my due date calculated?

We add 280 days (40 weeks) to the first day of your last period, then adjust for the difference between your cycle length and 28 days. Gestational age is counted from your last period, not conception.

What if my cycles are irregular?

If your cycles vary a lot, a last-period date may not be a reliable starting point. An early ultrasound is usually the best way to date a pregnancy; you can enter the scan date and gestational age using the Ultrasound option.

Can an ultrasound change my due date?

Yes. Care providers often adjust a due date when an early scan differs meaningfully from the date based on the last period. Follow the date your midwife or care provider gives you.

Is my information stored?

No. The calculation runs in your browser. The dates you enter are not sent to or saved by Midwife Tools.
