A higher score suggests the cervix is more ready for labour.

The Bishop score is one piece of information, and cervical exams vary between examiners. It does not predict the timing of labour and should not replace clinical judgment. Commonly, 8 or more is considered favourable and 6 or less unfavourable; check the thresholds your practice and local guidance use.
