Midwife Tools provides calculators, templates and resources for midwives and the families they care for. This policy explains, in plain language, what information the site handles and what we do with it. The short version: we collect very little, we don't sell it, and the calculators don't send what you enter anywhere.
What you enter into our calculators
The calculators on this site, such as the pregnancy calculator, run entirely in your web browser. The dates and other values you enter are not sent to Midwife Tools, not saved, and not shared. When you close or reload the page, they are gone.
Information we receive automatically
Like most websites, our web server records basic technical information when a page is requested: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, and your browser and device type. This is kept in server logs by our hosting provider, and we use it only to keep the site running, secure and reliable. We don't use it to identify individual visitors.
Cookies
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. The site may set a small, essential cookie that keeps a site administrator signed in; ordinary visitors don't receive one.
Third-party services
To display the site we load our fonts (Lato and Lora) from Google Fonts. When your browser requests them, Google receives your IP address and basic browser details, as with any file loaded from another company's server. Google's own privacy policy describes how it handles that information.
Some pages may link to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of sites we don't operate, so please read their policies.
If you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to tell us. We use it only to reply and to improve the site, and we keep it only as long as it's useful for that. Please don't send personal health information or details about a client or patient by email.
Information about health
Midwife Tools doesn't ask for, collect or store personal health information. Our tools are for information and planning only and aren't a substitute for professional care.
Children
This site is intended for midwives, other care providers and adults. It isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
New features
Midwife Tools is growing. If we add features that handle more information, such as a store, downloads, a newsletter, analytics or advertising, we will update this policy before they go live and describe what they involve.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing the address below. You can also block cookies or fonts from third parties in your browser settings; the site will still work.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top.
